Thornybush has launched an extraordinary new journey that redefines the meaning of safari travel.

Impact Safari is a five-night experience that goes beyond Big Five sightings to immerse guests in the interconnected worlds of conservation, culture, and community.

“Through the Impact Safari, we invite guests to look deeper — to see how responsible tourism protects wildlife and empowers the people who live alongside it,” says JB Burger, Head of Sales and Marketing at Thornybush.

Over five remarkable days, travellers explore the Thornybush and Sabi Sand Nature Reserves, taking part in authentic, hands-on activities that reveal the real heartbeat of Africa. With every conservation and community levy directly funding Thornybush Community projects, guests become part of a lasting legacy of change.

The Journey

Days 1–3: Stay at Thornybush Game Lodge or Saseka Tented Camp. Enjoy dawn and dusk game drives, helicopter anti-poaching patrols, a K9 demonstration, a bush breakfast, and the soulful Thornybush Choir.

Days 4–5: Transfer to Simbambili Game Lodge in the Sabi Sands. Join community gardening initiatives, meet the Endangered Wildlife Trust, visit Nourish Eco Village, and experience village life with the local Shangaan people.

Day 6: One last morning game drive and a farewell breakfast before departure.
